Cloud Solutions
Why move to the cloud?
There are significant potential savings and efficiencies to be made from moving to the cloud. Microsoft estimate that moving to the cloud can reduce IT costs by up to 60%. DfE believe there are significant teaching effectiveness gains and improved communication and collaboration gains to be made through schools, teaching staff, students, parents and governors having instantaneous, anytime, anywhere access to appropriate and relevant curriculum materials, performance data and operational information. The DfE Facilities Management team estimate that up to 25% of a schools energy budget is spent on powering and cooling IT equipment that is currently not, but could be, cloud based. These significant school cost savings could be used to enhance teaching capacity and capability, and to balance budgets.
Are you new to “Cloud Solutions”?
SEGfL can support you in your schools move to the ‘cloud’. We understand school environments and can help you establish a complete adoption plan so that you can find a solution that works for your school currently but is also able to adapt for the future. The plan ideally would involve:
- Visioning – A workshop with your Senior Leadership Team on your vision and the outcomes you want from their IT investment but that also fits with the school development plan.
- Technical- auditing your existing IT estate, including kit, connectivity and WIFI infrastructure.
- Finances- what you already spend on IT and where savings might be made.
Cloud solutions
Most business solutions are moving to the ‘cloud’ and education is no different. SEGfL can offer a range of ‘cloud’ services including support with the set up of:
- Google Workspace
- Microsoft 365
Full training can be provided on any aspects of these solutions by our Education specific Google and Microsoft certified trainers.
