Resources for Teachers
TV and Radio broadcasts offer a rich and diverse source of material to support teaching and enhance the learning experience. They provide brilliant resources for sparking students’ imagination and creativity and bring abstract concepts to life. The ERA website provides a range of resources to help teachers find and make the most of broadcast material in the classroom. Whether you need assistance in choosing clips or searching for examples and guides on how best you can use them, our resources allow teachers to unlock the full potential of broadcast media.
• Search Tool: search keywords to find broadcast resources from our broadcaster-members’ websites and on-demand services. You can filter results by subject, exam board, and key stage
• Subject Playlists: a curated selection of TV and radio programmes and clips, specially selected to match the curriculum for specific subjects
Additional resources available include Curriculum Connections: how the selected clips complement the curriculum, Clip Sheets: printable tasks that ensure pupil engagement and record key information, revision guides and SMSC resources for PSHE.
All state-funded primary and secondary schools in England are covered to use ERA TV and radio clips as part of the DfE copyright licence. More information can be found here
