Every year in early February, Safer Internet Day takes place and as many people are encouraged to take part as possible from schools to businesses across the country and beyond. It is the ideal opportunity to get the whole community thinking about online safety. SWGfL has developed an online safety self review for schools called 360 Degree Safe. It is free and provides:

• Information that can influence the production or review of online safety policies and develop good practice.
• A process for identifying strengths and weaknesses.
• Opportunities for commitment and involvement from the whole school.
• A continuum for schools to discuss how they might move from a basic level provision for online safety to practice that is aspirational and innovative.

Here is a collection of organisations that have curated or written specific packages for Primary schools around online safety. They range from e-books and films to assembly ideas.

Know It All for Primary– A award winning resource package from Childnet

UK Safer Internet Centre – Primary Zone includes films, quizzes and e-books to help get across the core messages

Internet Matters– Resource hub where you can search on specific topics

KELSI– Kent County Council has pulled together a comprehensive list of resources for teachers around general online safety but also specific areas of concern such as bullying, hate crime, fake news and critical thinking.
