8th April 2022New DfE Digital Standards for Schools and Colleges

On the 23rd March, the DfE released a new set of digital standards that will provide a guideline to help schools and colleges make the best decisions on their digital infrastructure and technology.

The standards are there to be used by a wide variety of stakeholders including:

• senior leadership teams and governors
• teachers
• IT support
• suppliers and technical advisors

They currently cover four areas:

• Broadband
• Network cabling
• Network switching
• WiFi

It is advised that all schools read the standards, assess if they meet the standards and plan accordingly.
