Wednesday the 24th February 2021, 16:00-1700
In this information era we live and breathe data, whether we are aware of it or not. Data is the new ‘Air’. We create data when we play games, watch TV, listen to music, use satellite navigation, use our phones…you get the picture.
The question is, how do we use this data to make better decisions? How do we get better at utilising this data to improve our thinking process and drive our conversations? In reality, most of the data we create is not being utilised due to the knowledge gap. In this session I will talk about my experience of bringing data literacy to schools, how I learned from our 7-year-old son and his friends and continue to do so! I will cover:
- What is data literacy?
- Why should we focus on learning about data from a young age?
- The impact of data literacy in our lives.
- How can we introduce data literacy to young children? Tips and tools that we can use.
- And most of all – how we can make this journey fun and interesting.
The Masterclass will include a short Q&A.
